Jaclyn has been teaching since 2002. She attended Penn State where she majored in journalism with a minor in photography, but remained only a few semesters before deciding that the large-class-lecture style of instruction at that university simply did not suit her. The analysis of her own learning style sparked in her a special interest in education, which she concentrated on in her studies at Eugene Lang College of the New School University. From this small-group-discussion style college of only 500 students in New York City, she received her Bachelor's degree in 2004. She taught in the South Bronx and all over the San Francisco Bay Area before relocating to Arizona. For three years she taught Upper Elementary at Chester Newton Montessori School in Camp Verde before joining Sedona Charter School’s Upper Elementary staff in 2010. Once she was introduced to the Montessori philosophy, she knew she had found her path. She is passionate about writing and reading and enjoys cultivating an affinity for the arts in her students. She is an avid traveler and has lived in New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, California, Arizona, and Sydney.
