Primary
In the Sedona Charter School Primary classroom you will find an environment created for children ages 3 to 5. The prepared environment is designed to encourage a love of learning and build a foundation for this developmental age group. The hands on lessons are meant to help children with order, concentration, coordination and independence as developed by Maria Montessori.
There are group lessons as well as individual lessons to meet the needs of each child where they are. Music, art, and grace and courtesy are incorporated into learning daily. The primary classroom is a community where students thrive

Our Day
Our day begins with gathering on the grass area. We then come together for group time. The work cycle then begins.
Each day students engage in practical life, sensorial, social studies and grace and courtesy lessons. When a student is ready Math, Science and reading are added.

Our Work
Students work individually or in pairs at this age. They work on mastering skills and concepts and repetition is key. Care of the environment, self and one another is practiced daily. The students are given freedom to choose work to complete within the boundaries of what each is developmentally capable of completing successfully.

Our Community
Working to care for the environment as a group creates community. The children work together to make their classroom beautiful. They also work together to care for our garden.
